LehouxFamily: A month in our lives! | January

I thought this blog post would be a fun way for you guys to see what we were up to last month, since we were unable to daily vlog. January wasn't all that exciting to be completely honest. We were kind of cooped up in the house a lot because of the snow. But we always try to make the best of it!
Sometimes when I'm bored I get the kids ready and take some pictures of them. (Surprising right?)

I swear I'm not the only one who enjoys it!

One night after daddy gave Nolan a bath I had to snap a few pics, because his hair was just too cute! I also realized it was almost time for him to get his first hair cut. :( Believe me, I was less than thrilled.
I swear I didn't do it mom!
You can see his crazy hair a bit better in this one.
This month Cohen made a huge leap in potty training. I feel like he is a bit young but because he always wants to be like his big sister we gave big boy undies a try. He had a few accidents but I was so proud of him and his determination! Not to mention his little butt looks so cute in those mustache undies! :)
What a cheesy smile lol

One of the presents I got for christmas was a new lens. I thought I would give it a go and snap a few shots around the house. It needs a little getting used too but I loved the results!
Her hair is messy and she wasn't anticipating it, but does she ever look beautiful!
Of course I had to get a shot of Bear!
I hope I will have time to read a book in the near future!
Such a sweet face!
We took some shots at Nana's too!
Daddy and the two older kiddos built a snowman! I unfortunately didn't get a picture of them with it because they were too cold and wanted to get inside and have some hot chocolate!
Another thing that happened this month was Sophia found her love for video games. I had to get out the camera when she was concentrating so I could get a shot of the cute faces she makes while she's in the zone!
Those lips though!
To be honest I don't even remember taking this picture! But I love it! :)
One thing we really tried to do was eat healthier this month. We haven't been perfect, but baby steps people! Brad made me this yummy tomato and avocado sandwich. It was as good as it looks! :)
Cohen and Olaf! Need I say more?
Nolan enjoying some blues clues!
We finally broke down and got him a hair cut! Well a bang cut lol
Definitely the kids had the most fun skating for the first time this month! I was pretty impressed with how well they did. They loved it! However I don't know who had more fun, the kids or daddy?!
Finally Nolan has been making some progress walking! He is walking along everything and even letting go for a few seconds! We pulled out Sophia's old walker and he seems to love it!
What a goofy smile!
Well I guess that's it for this month! Lets hope some of this snow melts soon! We hope everyone had a great weekend and we will see you next Sunday for a new blog! :)

Love,

A Healthier and Happier Me!

Well blog. . . long time no see. I thought I would start off by saying this is something I have never really done before and never really taken seriously. However, I feel there are changes I need to make in my life and this idea seems to really motivate me. I rang in the new year the same as I had left the old one. Treating myself terribly. It's been a week in 2015 and I decided I needed a change. I thought of the things that were making me unhappy, and made 5 new years resolutions. I am not saying I am going to succeed 100%, but every little step counts. All we can do is our best.

1. Eating Healthier and Getting in Shape - This is definitely going to be my toughest goal. I have always been the type of person who eats what the want when they want. But I have realized lately that my metabolism isn't what it used to be. And the junk I am putting into my body is affecting my mood and energy. My goal is to do a little bit of exercise about 4-5 times a week. I'm talking 20 minutes of jumping jack and sit ups. (As a mom of three I don't have much more free time than that) As well I have been tracking my daily consumption of calories with this great new app I found. Hopefully with time I will feel happier in my body and be able to tone up some of this baby flab I got going on here.

2. Saving Money - This is another tough one. I have to admit Brad and I haven't always been the smartest with our money and we have had quite a few set backs. We first need to make a plan (as of right now I have no idea what our future has in store) but regardless we need to save money. We plan on sitting down and making an overall budget and goal. Then bi-weekly going over where the money is going. All I can say is hopefully this works :)

3. Getting more organized - I always call our life organized chaos. For the most part we do the best we can with what little space we have. I decided it was important for me to plan ahead more. I am ordering a life planner that I think will really help me stay on top of things. I am super excited to get it!

4. My Channel - Since starting youtube I feel like I am finally where I want to be with my channels. I have a vlogging channel and a channel for everything else. I am hoping that my decision to cut back on vlogs will give me the chance to work on my individual channel more and let you guys see the more creative side of me. I have a lot of ideas!

5. Being more positive - I feel that overall I come off as a positive person (so I've been told) but everyone has their moments. Sometimes it's just too easy to look at the negatives in your life. (I have no space, I am living in a basement, I am sick of changing poop) But in all seriousness I want to try to just have a more positive outlook on life. In the last couple years I have lost some people in my life and it really makes you realize life is too short. We really shouldn't take anything for granted as we only have one shot at this life and it's over before you know it.

I know 2015 is going to be a great year for our family. I hope I motivated you in some way to either make some new years resolutions (even if it is a week late!) Or to just look at things with a little bit more gratitude.
think positive, be positive and positive things will happen.

Oh and blog you will be seeing a lot more of me in 2015.

LehouxFamily: My week in pictures! JULY 12th - July 18th 2014!

Well, the week has flown by. . . yet again. Before we know it summer will be over and we will be getting ready for fall. I tried to convince my family to pick up and move this week. Somewhere where the weather is always warm. Unfortunately it did not work! So I guess we will just have to soak up the sun while we have it! Get prepared for another busy week!
This is by far Cohen's favourite summer snack! And that poor fat lip :(

I love how he scrunches his nose when he smiles! :)

Drinking our first mojitos!

So proud of him!

The cake I made Karly for her 24th birthday!

This boy loves the park.

Dad took this one. Our babies all watching T.V together <3

I find him sleeping like this quite often. So sweet.

Best buds!

This dress is a size 4/5! Stop growing!

This picture is just so him. Smiling and goofing around!

I love this picture of Soph swimming with her papa!

Daddy's girl all the way!

Had a nice visit with grumpa. Apparently him and Soph like to pose the same!

Pretty soon he will need a new shirt! :(

Watering aunt mimi's flowers!

One of my favourites! Those eyes!

Last but not least another smiling face!

Well I hope you all had a wonderful week, we sure did! Until next week.

LehouxFamily: My week in pictures! July 3rd - July 11th 2014!

As you may or may not know photography is one if my passions. More specifically taking pictures of my little ones. Which means I pretty much have some sort of camera in their faces 24/7. I just don't want to miss a moment, because as all of you moms know it goes by way too fast! I always say how much I miss blogging and I came up with a way to blog and share some of my favourite shots taken over the past week. Hope you guys enjoy this new series on my blog, and don't forget to let me know what you think below!
He looks so tiny next to his big sister!

Apparently Nolan didn't think I was very funny... I got two out of three smiling though!

I love this picture, my little batman!

Nolan hanging out with his older cousin! (Only older by a few days!)

Watching his daddy!
Giving my girl some hugs before she headed off to her first big girl sleep over!

Such a smiley baby!

I just adore this picture for some reason.

Watching how to train your dragon with the middle child.

Oh. My. Goodness.

We all got a new toy this week, and Soph wanted Mr.Giraffe in the picture too!

He is growing up way too fast!

And last but not least he had a good visit with his great grandma Lehoux!

We clearly had a busy week, surprise surprise!
See ya next week!

Living Life as a Family of Five!

It has now been a little over three weeks since we have expanded our not so little family. One question I am constantly getting is "how is the jump going from two to three?" and "how are you doing it?" Well the honest to God truth... what's one more?

I think the biggest adjustment is having your first. You have no idea what you are doing and you are used to doing whatever you want, when you want.  But there is nothing better than that overwhelming love of having your first child.

Going from one kid to two was a bit easier for me than I thought. The thing I was most nervous about was having enough time to give both babies the attention they needed. Once Cohen got big enough they were instantly best buds. Sophia is so nurturing and is the best big sister I could have ever imagined. Seeing the love those two have for each other is beyond amazing and to me one of the best things about having them so close together.

Now to answer the "big question." It's like I've always had three, and believe it or not the easiest adjustment of all. Like I said the oldest two are the best of friends and keep each other busy.

Not only did they welcome their youngest brother with open arms but love to help me take care of him. I cannot wait to see the three of them grow up so close and take care of each other!

I know it's easy to get caught up with life, and forget what's really important. A quote I found recently sums us up perfectly!

"We may not have it all together, but together we have it all <3"

Living near the Detroit River!

Hey Guys!
So summer is finally here. I wanted to do something different today with the kiddies because the weather has not been the nicest around here lately. We have some beautiful parks along the Detroit River and as I suspected they loved walking along it! The flowers were in bloom and not to mention smelt amazing! I could not pass this opportunity to take some pics of the kids! Enjoy!
She was so excited to see the fountain and kept saying "Sos Water!"

Made me a little nervous but he loved exploring!

Happiest baby boy on the planet!

Candid moment when she went to smell the flowers :)

Little girl in a big world! She loved the boat behind her!

My favourite of the day. I'm sure you can tell why! :)
Make sure you subscribe to my blog and thanks for reading! :)
